A COOL TRANSMISSION IS A HAPPY TRANSMISSION
An automatic transmission works much harder and runs hotter when towing heavy loads or driving in extreme conditions. Extreme heat is dangerous to your transmission. If you regularly drive in these conditions, you may want to consider having us add transmission cooler to your vehicle. For regular driving conditions, keeping your transmission fluid fresh is the best preventative to transmission failure. The older the transmission fluid, the thinner it is and the less likely it can efficiently keep your transmission cool. REPAIR OR REPLACE?
If your transmission has failed, the next step is to remove and disassemble it and inspect the components to find out exactly what caused your transmission to fail. We call this process an R.D.I.. Since every vehicle is specific for how much time this process takes, we’ll give you the price up front before we start!
Next, we’ll give you a quote to repair/rebuild your transmission with the different warranty options. Depending on the issue, it may be more cost effective to replace your transmission with a remanufactured or low-mileage used transmission. We’ll lay it all out for you so that you can make the best decision for you and your situation!
MAINTENANCE
Regular maintenance on your transmission can help extend its life and keep you from costly repairs. We recommend that you change the filter, fluid and pan gasket once a year or every 12,000 miles. If your transmission doesn’t have a pan we can drain it and fill it with new oil. Another great way to keep your transmission going strong is a friction modifier additive called Lubeguard. It helps keep your transmission up to 40 degrees cooler and optimizes transmission performance!

I had a messed up transmission with a super tight time crunch and they were able to get working on my car so fast I could not believe it. I explained to Katie that I lived in my car and she made sure it was top priority with the technicians. I can not thank Katie enough for that. Even when my car was still slipping after the original fix, I brought It back and they worked on it immediately and it was under warranty so I did Not have to pay extra. They kept me updated on the progress and let me know when I could expect to pick it up… totally proactive and I never had to be the impatient customer following up trying to find out what was going on.

My son recently bought a used car in CA and drove to Utah to go to college. He unfortunately had to replace the transmission after only a couple months. He took his car to Action Transmission in Provo to do the work. Everyone at Action Transmission was incredible throughout the entire process. Finding a good, honest, professional auto repair shop is tough when you are from out of town, but we definitely found one with Action Transmission. The office staff treated us great, communicated often and answered all our questions, and even sent texts along the way to keep us updated on everything. The technician performed exceptional work on our car and worked the entire day to complete the repair and get the car back to my son so that he could get back to his college schedule. The technician was even able to provide us with information and pictures pointing out the problems & issues from the previous owner and the previous repairs by other shops. Took care of my transmission within a week. Working in aviation I understand that items like that are expensive, but this place did a really good job and within a week is incredible. Again such items are expensive, but I can't really say much or complain because at the end of the day they helped me out and I am grateful. Also shout out to Katie York, she did a good job of informing me about the project when in work. And thank you Tim Ward. He provided a good mechanical thinking that we do in aviation which is too take a ton of pictures . Seeing that made me very happy.

Had such a great experience working with Stephanie. She was so nice and they got my car in and out. They were honest! Thought i could of possibly had a transmission issue but instead it was a shift linkage problem so i ended paying way less for the fix. I would definitely recommend their shop! I’m convinced if it was your full time job to look for the best run transmission shop, you wouldn’t find a better one than Action Transmission.
Was quoted $2,500 at another shop and Action Transmission fixed my car for $619. You get a report seeing their internal notes, photos, etc.

Action transmission was amazing! They provided great service during a very stressful situation. I had just recently bought my car. I was told during its car inspection at another mechanic that it looked great, and decided to go on a trip to Vegas. My cars transmission completely stopped engaging in Cedar City and I had to find a way to get it back home as well, a tow was gonna cost me a fortune. I originally took my car to the Mitsubishi dealership and after diagnosing it they told me I’d need a whole new transmission as CVT transmissions can’t be rebuilt. They quoted me something I could have never afforded. To say the least I was a mess trying to figure out what my next step was as a college student working full time, without another means for transportation, but Kevin made the process that much easier for me. He was quick and had my car done 5-6 days earlier than he had told me to expect it. He communicated with me every step of the way. He laid out all my options and made sure I understood each one in a way that made me feel sure of myself. (I’m a woman and sometimes we get taken advantage of.) I knew that I could trust Action transmission immediately. They didn’t sugarcoat anything, but worked with me to get the best thing going for my situation. Rosalyn was great to go back and forth with on the phone answering all my questions. The team even helped me get my car off the dolly when I was trying to drop it off after they were already heading out for the day. A business ran by very good people and a team that knows how to work together. I would recommend them to anyone, and will be going back to them if ever needed.

Amazing service! My car has been having a lot of issues, and the team down at Action Transmissions has been great to work with in fixing it up. Had a full transmission rebuild and some other bad parts diagnosed and replaced. Communication is quick and clear, vehicle servicing is speedy, the staff have always been friendly, and most importantly, they actually listen to what I have to say about my vehicle. 10/10 repair shop, would definitely recommend AC to anyone whose car is in need of a transmission tune up~

I had a old 1978 suburban that I got the engine running only to find the transmission not working. My friend helped me tow it to action after talking with Joe. I told him if it was much over the diagnosis fee I would probably scrap it. The diagnosis after a complete tear down showed the burnt up parts.
Between it and the drive shaft it was more than I wanted to invest. I ask that they send it to scrap metal to pay diagnosis cost.

I have a truck with a 4L60E transmission, so of course it went out at 180k miles. I've used these guys for years and they have been fantastic. They had very quickly found that the pump went out and also damaged other components, so it needed to be rebuilt or replaced. They gave me multiple options from $1,200-$4,500. I do lots of towing, so I went with the best option with the longest warranty. I've had it for 2 years now with lots of towing and haven't had a single problem with it. I highly recommend these guys for any transmission work. It may cost a little more than other shops, but they get it done right.

This was my second transmission repair. The work on my truck was amazing- Action did in a week (over Labor Day weekend) what another shop hadn't been able to get to in three weeks. I highly recommend Action Transmissions. They were patient, very communicative, and honest. They are also very transparent about what they see on your vehicle. Action not only sent me pictures of what the inside of my transmission pan looked like, they also sent me pictures of the code that was being thrown by my truck. It's really easy for a shop to tell you you're going to need a new transmission, and you're none the wiser. While I understand sometimes you just need a new transmission, it's nice to know that in a case like mine, if it's just a $100 dollar part, Action will tell you as much, and get you in and out quickly. My "new to me" 20 year old truck is shifting great now. 10/10 would recommend.

Action offered many options for my unfortunate issues with my transmission. They even offered a good financing option. Once the transmission came they had it working in one day. They also worked with me to pick it up over the weekend overall, Stephanie made the experience great by her quick communication throughout the days. Thank you for getting me back on the road as quick as possible.

The technician, Lyle, was fantastic. He worked very hard to find and solve a difficult problem with my transmission computer. Labor costs were worth it.

In looking for a place to get our transmission replaced, I was looking for the best price and a confirmation that they were competent. The price was the best I found and their customer service, frequency of communication and availability were a huge bonus. We haven't driven the car much since, so the jury is still out on quality of work, but great so far. They were also very kind and did a couple of other things to the car that we needed while it was there, things that I expected them to say no to (non-transmission stuff), but they happily did them. Given our experience, I highly recommend them.

One day after my old truck started making bad scraping noises, Jon brought me the news that nobody wants to hear - that I needed a transmission rebuild. However, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my truck back to Action Transmission with their level of expertise. They were able to rebuild the transmission in my 1995 f150 and completely diagnose/repair the cause of the transmission failure in about 2 weeks, even finding parts to fit my nearly 30 year old vehicle. Despite my persistent (and probably annoying) calls for updates, they were patient, kept me in the loop, and talked me through exactly what needed to happen. My truck now runs better than the day I bought it. Thanks Jon and Action Transmission for what now runs like a brand new truck!
